SIGMOD 2015 Call For Workshop Proposals
Several workshops are held together with the annual SIGMOD/PODS conference. The deadline for the receipt of proposals for SIGMOD-sponsored workshops to be co-located with SIGMOD/PODS 2015 is:
Workshops will take place before the SIGMOD/PODS conference. In particular, workshops will generally take place on Sunday, May 31, and on Friday, June 5, with two taking place on Monday, June 1. Workshops that run for anywhere between half a day and a full day are possible.
The logistics of the workshops will be handled by the SIGMOD 2015 organization. Specifically, the SIGMOD 2015 local organization chairs will work with workshop chairs to take care of facilities, catering, and registration for all workshops. To enable this, breaks will be coordinated. Each workshop receives two free registrations which are typically used for keynote or invited speakers; the recipients of the free registrations are at the discretion of the workshop chairs, who are requested to send the recipients' names and contact information to the SIGMOD 2015 local organization and registration chairs.
The organizers of accepted workshops are required to announce the workshop and call for papers, solicit submissions, conduct the reviewing process, and decide upon the final workshop program that must be published at least two weeks before the early registration deadline. In addition, each workshop must prepare its own proceedings. The publishing company is at the discretion of the workshop chairs, but all proceedings must be submitted for inclusion in the ACM Digital Library. Publication of calls for papers and participation as well as eventual workshop reports in SIGMOD Record are encouraged.
Proposal evaluation criteria include the following: relevance to SIGMOD, scientific quality, perceived interest (e.g., previous submission counts), past performance (e.g., publication of the proceedings in the ACM DL), and overlap with other proposals. Notification of acceptance will occur by Monday, September 29, 2014.
Proposals should include a table with the following numbers are summarized for the previous two years the workshop was held (wherever applicable) and (expected) for 2015:
# of submissions
# of accepted papers
# of registered delegates
